Tullibody Amateurs. Visual Services East of Scotland Amateur Cup Champions 2003/2004.

Tuesday 18th May, 2004

Playied at Almondvale, Livingston FC.

Tullibody 4-3 Addiewell Hearts (a.e.t)

This was Tullibody’s first ever final in a national competition. On route to the final Tullibody encountered Aberforth Rangers in the 2nd round. Aberforth were the current holders of the competition and some dubbed this game “the would be final”. On the day an excellent match was played out with Tullibody winning 5-3.

A 3rd round trip to Stenhouse who were riding high in the Stirlingshire league beckoned but Tullibody kept a clean sheet and won 3-0.

St. Bernard’s were the visitors to Tullibody for the 4th round. A match that started well ended with Tullibody running out easy winners 4-0 and two St. Bernard’s players taking early baths.

Another home tie in the fifth round and higher scoring. Livingston Hearts under 23’s side came to Tullibody having taken the scalp of Bannockburn in the Scottish cup but were given a lesson in finishing by Tullibody. 6-2.

For the Semifinals Tullibody had to travel to Edinburgh's Saughton Enclosure to take on AVU. Tullibody may have been 1-0 down at half time but the second half saw the real Tullibody side dominate and use the large size of the pitch to their advantage. Even a rare goal from captain Totten who’s cross from a corner evaded everyone and ended up in the net helped Tullibody to their first ever national final by winning 4-1. Read a match report.

The Visual Services East of Scotland Amateur Cup final has been the highlight of Tullibody Amateurs history so far. In front of hundreds of spectators at Livingston’s Almondvale stadium and against a hard working Addiewell Hearts side Tullibody won the match in extra time.
